The LNCI Consortium welcomes three new members: BACOG, The Nature Ladies, and Boy Scout Troop 927. The Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG) is an organization comprised of elected officials representing seven local villages and two townships in the Barrington area: Barrington, Barrington Hills, Barrington Township, Cuba Township, Deer Park, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, South Barrington, and Tower Lakes. The Nature Ladies program was developed in 1979 by the Little Garden Club of Barrington and the Garden Club of Barrington. Volunteers visit all District 220 grades K-2 to discuss nature related topics. In addition, a special class about prairies for third graders is presented as part of the students science curriculum. Boy Scout Troop 927 is part of the Blackhawk Council, Sycamore District. Members of Troop 927 have been working hard at Vehe Farm completing community service and Eagle Award Projects. Jonathan Coath who restored a 1920’s horse-drawn sled at Vehe Farm was Troop 927’s first Scout to achieve his Eagle Award. For more information visit: www.bsatroop927.org/index.html.
