The International Migratory Bird Day event at Lake Arlington, Arlington Heights, IL was held on May 16th. Organizations such as Prairie Woods Audubon Society, Stillman, Sierra Club, Illinois Ornithology Society, Fox River Grove Wild Bird Center, Vehe Farm Foundation/Leave No Child Inside Consortium, and many more, braved the chilly and blustery day. Birding tours were provided, a raffle, and other birding information was available for all. |

Over eighty children and parents came to Vehe Farm barn to see a rescued screech owl and great horned owl. Dawn Keller from Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation discussed how the birds came to her and how she was able to save the two owls.
