After a walk through the prairie where Cabbage White moths, Sulphurs, Monarchs, and Swallowtails were seen and children learned about the cup plant, prairie sunflowers, and other butterfly friendly prairie plants everyone headed back to the butterfly garden. There children potted marigold seeds to grow at home and each attendee received a donated butterfly nectar plant from Hampshire Farms. A resident of Deer Park, who works at Hampshire Farm and who had attended a previous Leave No Child Inside (LNCI) event with his children, felt the LNCI initiative is very important for all children to experience nature first hand and worked with the Foundation and Hampshire Farms to make this very generous donation possible.
